It wasn’t the Brooklyn Cyclones playing baseball this past Tuesday night at MCU Park in Coney Island.
It was Flatbush Hatzolah versus the NYPD’s Brooklyn Borough team and while Hatzolah won the game by a score of 6-2, the big winners were the local charities who were the recipients of the $36,000 raised by this annual event, with the NYPD’s Lieutenant’s Fund receiving $18,000 and the remaining $18,000 distributed to assorted Brooklyn tzedakas. Over 4,000 people attended the game, with corporate sponsors contributing most of the funds that were raised.
