Chazzanim Gather to Inspire Public Tefillos

Cong. Young Israel Beth El of Boro Park was packed from wall to wall as tefillos were sung on behalf of our brethren in Eretz Yisrael.

An overflowing crowd filled the Young Israel Beth El Synagogue Wednesday night July 25th in Boro Park to hear various chazzanim participate in the singing of tefillos on behalf of the people of Eretz Yisrael in their time of tzorah.
The event was sponsored by Cantors World and the Cantorial Council of America. Each chazzan came on his own expense and donated his time and talents on behalf of the cause.

Cantor Yaakov Motzen recited Yizkerem; Cantor Avi Schwartz recited Misratze B’rachamim; Cantor Netanel Herstik recited Esa Einai; Cantor Moshe Weiss recited Habet MiShamayim; Cantor Pinchas Cohen recited VeliYerushalayim Ircha; Cantor Ben Zion Miller, Cantor of the shul, recited Tehillim, Elokim Bo’u Goyim; and Cantor Joseph Malovany davened Maariv.
The surprise of the evening was the appearance of Cantor Yitzchok Meir Helfgot who made a special trip from Eretz Yisrael just to sing Ribbono Shel Olam before heading back to the airport.
The Rav of the shul, Rabbi Moshe Snow addressed the crowd and said, “It is unfortunate that we have to meet under such trying circumstances, but, it is wonderful to see the unity of Klal Yisrael which is evident by the crowd that is here tonight.”
