NEW ALBUM - Shlomo Carlebach - Songs Of Peace

Shlomo Carlebach, known as the ‘Father of Modern Jewish Music’ may no longer be with us but his music continues to live on in the hearts and minds of those he touched with his songs. This has never been more obvious than on his newest release, “Songs of Peace”, which hits today (October 27) via Sojourn Records. Fifteen years after his passing, Sojourn will be offering the world a chance to hear two phenomenal and previously unreleased performances recorded live in 1973. Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach’s legacy is still thriving thanks to the continued play and singing of his songs by millions of people worldwide. This year, in remembrance of his life and work, major commemorative events have been planned throughout early November across the Unites States, Canada, Australia, Europe and Israel.
For “Songs of Peace”, Carlebach’s daughter Neshama and the estate of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach have collaborated with Sojourn Records to produce these two recently discovered live sets. This is your opportunity to listen to an offering from a man no longer here, recorded over thirty-five years ago – yet strangely and hauntingly of this moment in time.

Amiran Dvir- “Now is the Time”

Amiran Dvir, directs one of the most successful bands in religious-Chareidi circles. He began playing classical music on the piano at age 4 and by the age of 6 he had already written his first musical piece. At a young age he began performing with his father, who had a well-known wedding orchestra, and after receiving his father’s blessing, he set out on his own musical career.
The band traveled all over the world with its performances, ranging between prestigious wedding to cruises on ships at the Caribbean and daily taking part in important events all over the world. Aside from the successful band, Dvir continues and makes sure to spend his free hours writing and composing, and he is stamped on quite a number of hits. Now another single is released towards his new album, coming soon. The new song “Now is the Time” is upbeat, different and has a catchy melody.
The first single which was released previously, “The Canopy Path”, melted the hearts at hundreds of weddings and was even played on the radio many times. Now, as we have mentioned, comes a new song to lyrics written by Admit Harel. Dvir’s music is sometimes upbeat and sometimes sweetish, and always brings with it something else, more professional and polished. Dvir sets himself high on the list of bands and songwriters. The song Now is the Time certainly reaches expectations. It calls to release all the anger from the hearts and make room for more positive, placated and forgiving feelings. The full album will be released IY”H during the winter.

Shwekey Event Cancelled Following Meeting With Rav Shmuel Auerbach

In recent days, word spread about Shwekey’s appearance at the event, but, as per Rav Auerbach’s instruction, the singer will not appear at Oros Hateshuvah. Instead, it has been learned, a different yeshiva has hired Shwekey to appear at its Simchas Bais Hashoeivah tomorrow night in Givat Shaul. Entry to the event will be by invitation only, to prevent the gathering from turning into a public event and drawing large crowds which are difficult to control. An orchestra of eight players will also be present at the event.
