YuvalL Taub – Shema Yisrael

In honour of Hanukah, a real miracle is about to happen: Yuval Taib's album Shema Yisrael, the album of the decade, has been released. Taib has been a star of oriental music since the age of 8, his first album was released on the occasion of his barmitzvah, back in the 90's. Even then his father sensed that his considerable talent needed polishing and sent him to learn voice production and classical violin. Along with his school lessons, the youngster listened to the leading lights in Arabic music, such as Um Kaltoum, Abdul Wahab, Abed Halim, Frid Al-Atrash and others.

The young Taib began to collect records and cassettes, sang duets with the leading singers in the country and studied with top musicologists. Today, Taib is considered, despite his youth, to be a walking encyclopaedia on everything in the realm of Arabic music. An expert in Egyptian music, he takes calls from professionals seeking his advice on the source of melodies and maqams. Yuval Taib lectures in the history of poetry and piyyutim at various academic institutions.

His musical upbringing, the endless appearances and performances were all just preparation for this very album. The cream of talent in Jewish ethnic music comes together in this fascinating album: Yechiel, Eli Keshet, Adi Leon and, in addition, the master producer, Haim Devash.

Shmuel Yona, Rami Lev, Arlette Safadiye, Yaakov Menashe, Erez Shema Yisrael by Yuval Taib is packed with contemporary hits that span the spectrum of styles – from western to authentically Arab. One track sung in two languages: Wedding Night, is slated to be a moving hit at weddings, in two versions in Hebrew and in Arabic. The album allows Yuval Taib's fans to at last hear the singles that have become hits: Am Echad, Yom Yavo & Halleluy-ah that feature on the list of tracks.

Rabbi Moshe Pinchas Weissbaum - Heartfelt melodies

A newly released album of hassidic melodies is attracting widespread attention…
even from Japan! The album, produced by a pulpit rabbi from Maryland, brings us niggunim written by famous tzadikim, such as the Noam Elimelech ztz"l in a collection slated to be the first in a series of genuine hassidic melodies.

The album "Heartfelt Melodies" contains nine niggunim whose arrangement preserves their authentic musical character, whilst maintaining superior sound quality. The album was recorded in state-of-art studios with the best and most experienced professionals in the country. This project was the inspiration of Rabbi Moshe Pinchas Weisblum, the highly talented Rav of a thriving community in Maryland, who in addition to featuring in the album, is responsible for the production
and musical arrangement.

In the notes included with the album, Rav Weisblum explains that "Heartfelt Melodies are from the most sacred of sources. Some of them were composed by the most holy of tzadikim and were actually sung at their own holy tables, where I was privileged to be raised, by my great grandfather the "Noam Elimelech" (zechuto
yagen aleinu) and Rebbe Yaakov Yitzhak Weisblum ztzvk"l Rav of the communities of Swierz and Lissa.

The tradition of interweaving niggunim into the nusach of the davening was started by the Hassidic courts of Ziditshov and Stretin, from the Rebbe of Alesk and composers of the stature of the holy mohel of Stanislevov, towering figures who alongside their involvement with holy matters, lay claim to ancient melodies which with the course of time became popular everyday niggunim found in almost every Jewish home.

The biggest surprise, however, comes from the other side of the world. Amazon's online Japanese website has marketed the album with amazing success under the label of Melodies of the Heart. The Japanese have welcomed the album as a source of music that calms and uplifts the spirit.

Weisblum promises there are more albums to come in the series that will be a musical tribute in memory of generations gone by.

Michel Pardes – Shir Zion (Song of Zion)

Michel Pardes is about to release his second album arranged by Avi Singolda. Michel Pardes who is also responsible for production, works with only "the top musicians in the Holy Land" in his words. "The hall of music is close to the hall of prayer, there is no room for compromise, only the best is good enough." Michel Pardes a businessman who travels the world, pops over to Israel in between deals to record singles that turn into albums.

Shir Zion is the first single from Pardes’ second, marvelous album which is expected to be launched within the next few months. The song contains a wealth of Jewish optimism, bringing with it a breath of fresh air to the world of Jewish music. Listening to the tracks, one gets the impression that Pardes has come a long way, both in the level of production and in the complexity of the music. The album’s musical arrangement and creation is in the hands of Israel’s master guitarist, Avi Singolda. "Singolda is indeed an awesome guitarist…", Pardes praises his colleague, "Hashem gave him a great gift". Working with Singolda has taught him what a professional really is, he is 'hyper', humourous and endlessly talented. "I hope that the amazing connection formed by our working together will pave a way to the hearts of the listeners.

” Unti recently, Pardes played with a modest band at simchas throughout Europe. Pardes, himself a pianist, studied at a music academy in Brussels. "Composing music is spiritual work", says Pardes "the part of me which is closest to Hashem. My soul needs to sing in order to exist and to fill my heart with good. The music which I write makes me feel good.”

The timbre of his voice, singing and musical style which are unique to Pardes contribute to create an inspiring experience and enable one to connect to the verses, to gain an understanding of them and to reflect upon the words that one is hearing. Highly recommended!

Yosef Karduner – Kumsitz

Yosef Karduner one of the pioneers of Jewish music since its inception with numerous chart topping hits to his name such as the acclaimed Shir Lamaalot which generated a range of versions recorded by artists from across the musical spectrum, is currently celebrating the launch of his tenth album, with a difference.

In contrast to his previous albums, which contained a selection of new songs in Karduner's unique style, his new album Kumsitz consists of the best of Karduner's unforgettable hits and more, that were recorded at various live
shows performed throughout the US last winter.

Karduner rarely performs live due to his modest nature. The tremendous success of his many albums left his devoted producer, Yehuda Kunsman, no choice and he was forced to dispatch Karduner overseas for a round
of performances. The overwhelming impact of the shows caught them by surprise and this together with the high quality professional recording as well as pressure from those involved ensured that a kumsitz album of the shows
was just a matter of time.

The new album is comprised of sixteen tracks, among which are Tesameach, Yedid Nefesh, Vetaher Libenu, Tzaveh Yeshuot Yaakov, Shir Lamaalot, and others.

Karduner's identity as a Breslover hassid finds expression in two of his albums which contain hassidic niggunim. One album contains Shabbat songs and features Shuli Rand, and another contains songs for Motzei Shabbat. The lyrics of the songs in the other albums as well have a trace of the enchanting quality of Rebbe Nachman.

The album will be distributed by Greentec, the leading company in Jewish music and content in Israel.

Yuval Taieb – "A Day will Come" (Yom Yavo)

Summer hit in Israel and Europe - takes off:

Taieb has been singing piyyutim since the age of eight. Since then he has brought out a number of albums, sung duets with the leading singers in the country and studied with top musicologists. Today, Taieb is considered, despite his youth, to be a walking encyclopaedia on everything in the realm of Arabic music. An expert in Egyptian music, he takes calls from professionals seeking his advice on the source of melodies and maqams.

Youval taieb lectures in the history of poetry and piyyutim at various academic institutions, among others at a "secret" course at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Taieb's two previous singles have found a place in every home and studio. Both Am Echad ("One People") and his version of Halleluya brought joy and pleasure to many. Work on the remaining songs from the anticipated album is almost complete. Experts in the field who have heard material from the album expect the new album to garner enthusiastic acclaim.

The complete album is due to be released prior to the chagim be"H.
