Eitan - Bo'er Kmo Esh - Single

As some people might know, Itzik Orlev started his career under the wing of Itzik Eshel
when Eshel produced Orlev's first album "Ma'agalim". After two smash hit albums & a third on the way, Itzik  his brother/manager Roee Orlev decided to produce an album for a new, young, talented singer that
goes by the name Eitan.

About a year ago Itzik Orlev was to begin recording his third pop/dance album, when Orlev's Rabbi told
him to change his genre of music, and to go into the direction of singing authentic Jewish music, Itzik
quickly decided to do so & instantly teamed up with Amiran Dvir to begin work on Itzik's upcoming album
"Ribon Ha'olamim". Roee Orlev then decided to take the whole album, and have Eitan sing it, While Itzik adds to the backup vocals.

Eitan, a promising, young talent that hails from Queens, New York will shortly be releasing his debut album.
The album will consist of 10 tracks, some Hebrew, & some English. Two of the tracks on the album were
produced by singer Gad Elbaz, where on one of those tracks Elbaz lends his voice in a duet with Eitan. Of
course there will also be a song where Itzik Orlev sings a duet as well. The album consists of fast songs & slow catchy melodies.

The single that's being released is called "Bo'er Kmo Esh" a catchy summer tune. The song's meaning is
about the anticipation of the coming of Moshiach quickly, Backup vocals were done by Itzik Orlev & Nir
Kepten. The song was composed by Barak Melamed who composed Orlev's smash hit "Mitga'hagea".
Lyrics written by Tamar Sharvit, arrangements by Alex Reznik.

Itzik Orlev - Kol Ma De'avid - Single

Itzik Orlev released his third single entitled "Kol Ma De'avid" from his upcoming album "Ribon Ha'olamim"
After much success with his previous two singles "Ribon Ha"olamim", & duet with Amiran Dvir "Bechol Yom She'Yavoh" Orlev decided to go on something Hasidic/mizrachi style with his new single "Kol Ma De'avid". Amiran Dvir lends his voice in this one with backup vocals. After Itzik Orlev changed his musical style from dance/pop to hasidic, Amiran Dvir decided to collaborate with Orlev on this album, and take on the entire production. The song was composed by Itzik Orlev & Amiran Dvir, and was recorded at Shmuel Yona's studio. Arrangements on this song were done by Amiran Dvir.

Dovid Gabay Cover and 2 Min Preview of Title Track

The title track, composed by Elimelech Blumstein and arranged by Moshe Roth. The CD will be available in the next 1-2 weeks.

Od Yosef Chai in the NY Times

He was called the Jewish Caruso. Indeed, fervent enthusiasts sometimes referred to Caruso as the Italian Yossele Rosenblatt.

Mr. Rosenblatt, who died in 1933, was regarded as the greatest cantor of his time. But his was a time when music was recorded on heavy shellac or celluloid 78 r.p.m. records. The quality of those recordings was never that faithful in the first place and wore away over the years.
Enter Mendel Werdyger, a lush-bearded 52-year-old Hasidic Jew who runs a record shop on 13th Avenue in Borough Park, Brooklyn. With no college degree and no professional training in sound engineering, Mr. Werdyger has used advanced audio restoration programs on the ordinary computer in his ragtag office to patiently clean away the crackles, hisses and other distortions on those creaky old 78s.
The result: three compact discs with Mr. Rosenblatt singing 35 tracks, including prayers and even a folk chestnut, “Mein Yiddishe Mama.” The first CD has sold 15,000 copies; the third was released a few weeks ago.
“It never sounded so clear,” said Bernard Beer, director of the Philip and Sarah Belz School of Jewish Music at Yeshiva University. “I was brought up with this music and I know those recordings from childhood, and I listened to it and I told my associate there’s no comparison to anything that was done before.”
The achievement would have been striking had it been that of a sound engineer. But what sound engineer would spend 5 to 10 hours per song to produce CDs for the rarefied world of cantorial buffs? It was, for Mr. Werdyger, a work of love and zeal.
A tall, broad-shouldered father of 6 and grandfather of 10 who, like many Hasidim, wears a double-breasted frock coat known as a rekel, Mr. Werdyger has cantorial DNA. His 90-year-old father, David Werdyger, is a cantor who succeeded another superstar, Moishe Oysher, in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. His brother Mordechai Ben David, 59, is a popular singer of what Mr. Werdyger laughingly calls “Hasidic rock.” With a sonorous voice of his own, Mr. Werdyger leads prayers at his shtibl, or room-size synagogue, in Borough Park.
Growing up in Crown Heights and Borough Park, Mr. Werdyger had a yeshiva education, going all the way through kolel — a Talmudic institute for adults. At 21, he went into his father’s business, Aderet Music, a wholesaler of Jewish recordings.
About 20 years ago, he found himself at the old 47th Street Photo store buying his first computer — with a now-ancient 20-megabyte hard drive — but was captivated by the other equipment around him, including a machine the salesman had to explain was a fax.
“He told me you put it in one end and it comes out the other,” Mr. Werdyger recalled. “I was totally awe-struck and I got hooked on technology.”
About five years ago, he started dabbling in audio restoration, cleaning up recordings of his father’s music. Rosenblatt became his Everest.
Mr. Rosenblatt was born in Russia in 1882 and toured Eastern Europe as a child prodigy. In 1912 he immigrated to the United States and became the cantor at Ohab Zedek, an Orthodox synagogue then on 116th Street in Harlem. Blessed with a penetrating bell-like tenor with a range of two and a half octaves, and a gift for coloratura and falsetto, Mr. Rosenblatt had the ability to squeeze the pathos or elation out of every prayer.

Lehava Orchestra's Amazing Double Album

At the end of three years of concentrated effort the Lehava Orchestra, the most successful religious orchestra, has reached the finish line with a fantastic double album which is without doubt by far the best collection of wedding music to appear in recent years. The album contains thirty-six mostly original tracks well made with superior production and sound quality never heard before.

The Lehava Orchestra presents a project which is elaborate, well thought out, rich and fascinating that includes Jewish, Hassidic and Israeli music featuring brilliant arrangements and combinations, as well as different and varied style content. It encompasses on the one hand 'Ki Hirbeita', 'Vezakeini' and 'Kah Echsof', and on the other 'Azamer Bishvachin' country style, soul songs such as Shlomo Carlebach's 'Beshem Hashem' with Avreimi Roth, Jewish hits such as 'Ana Efneh' and 'Ruach Stav', from electro-tech dance music to Jewish & Irish rock. Yechiel Greenberg and the Lehava band have gone all out in order to give you one of the most original albums ever produced by a wedding orchestra.

Obviously, a band playing at simchas night after night knows precisely which songs will catch on and which ones will be quickly forgotten. Armed with this experience, Yechiel Greenberg, the group's leader and founder, has produced an extensive collection of popular hassidic music ranging from old-time, well-known
medleys to new hassidic and jewish music compositions, featuring both old and new tunes.

Previous singles brought out by the band sparked much attention and have been frequently played by religious and traditional Israeli stations. Now that the album has finally been completed excitement is mounting and it is eagerly awaited by the listening public. Even the price of the album reflects the amount of thought invested in it. The Double Project will combine exclusive packaging at a popular price and will sell for a mere 69 shekel, most definitely a great deal. Lehava say there are more surprises in store. Stay tuned.

The group was formed four years ago by Yechiel Greenberg, former founder of the Shalhevet Orchestra which he left after 12 years. "Lehava" consists of six musicians and a vocalist (Yaron Bar) and as mentioned prides itself on its professionalism. The band includes guitar, trumpet, 12 different types of flutes and recorders where necessary, saxophone, trombone, keyboard, violin and drums. The band also puts special emphasis on the artistic content of the chuppa, with a musical accompaniment composed of five musicians playing and harmonizing.

Singing the US Anthem at the Hatzolah vs NYPD Baseball Game

It wasn’t the Brooklyn Cyclones playing baseball this past Tuesday night at MCU Park in Coney Island.

It was Flatbush Hatzolah versus the NYPD’s Brooklyn Borough team and while Hatzolah won the game by a score of 6-2, the big winners were the local charities who were the recipients of the $36,000 raised by this annual event, with the NYPD’s Lieutenant’s Fund receiving $18,000 and the remaining $18,000 distributed to assorted Brooklyn tzedakas. Over 4,000 people attended the game, with corporate sponsors contributing most of the funds that were raised.

Eden - The Knock at the Door

David Ben-Yshay - Vocals, Bass Guitar ~ Moshe Axelrod - Guitar ~ Motti Shanet - Drums

Comprised of three childhood friends growing up with a love for music, Eden is a Jewish Rock trio from Brooklyn, New York that has been an explosive musical force from its inception. Having performed before audiences numbered from hundreds to thousands, Eden's powerful message of spirituality and joy has spread to people all over the world. Their musical influences cover the gamut of rock, ranging from the earliest roots of folk to the most modern explosive metal and everything in between.

Eden's underlying message is twofold. It seeks not only to dispel the notion that Torah and spirituality are merely ancient and mundane ideas, but also that they are connected to our modern daily life.Through the energy of their Alternative Rock expressions, fused with themes of Judaism and spirituality, they create a palatable medium that can always entertain and inspire any audience.

In 2005 Eden released their debut album “Break of Dawn”. The instant hit “Adon Olam” rocked the airwaves and headsets of Jewish music listeners across the world. After years of performances promoting the album, the band took a hiatus, in part, to reflect and rejuvinate their musical inspiration. After regrouping, new  material was written and the band began performing to test the waters of their newfound musical voice. The result was a resounding “Wow” and it sent Eden back into the recording studio. “The Knock at the Door” EP is just a taste of things to come, and what’s coming is some of the most intense Jewish music you will ever  encounter. for more info check out edenmusic.net
