Baryo new Single - In collaboration with Graucher Jr
Singer and composer Baryo Hakshur is back with a special new song called “Nafla Ateret Roshenu,” written and composed for the neshama of Rabbi Shimon Gabai Zt”l Rosh Yeshiva of “Nachalat Samual” in Netanya (a talmid of Hagoen Rabbi Ben Tzion Abba Shaul zt”l)- upon his shloshim.
Baryo, a graduate of Yeshiva “Torah Voddas” in New York, studied in his youth by the rabbi’s yeshiva in Netanya, and like all students, admired him greatly and looked up to him.
The rabbi’s sudden death inspired Baryo to write and compose a song in his memory, in which Hakshur expresses his feelings and personal pain of the sudden departure of his mentor.
Aviel Graucher (son of the singer Dedi) played the piano on this song and also joined in the vocals.

Mendy Jacobson - Dance With It - Music Video
While so many aspiring singers proudly proclaim that they have music in
their blood, for Mendy Jacobson, a talented young artist from Brooklyn,
that statement is very likely true. Mendy’s family tree includes some
very well known names in the Jewish music industry including Eli
Gerstner, Srully Williger, Rivi and Eli Schwebel and composer Yitzy
Waldner and with the release of his two track promotional album, Dance
With It, Mendy hopes to firmly cement his place as an up and coming star
in the Jewish music industry.
Mendy first began singing as a child of four, recording his performances on cassette tape and continued singing at Bar Mitzvahs, dinners and in yeshiva. After his Bar Mitzvah, Mendy focused on his learning for several years, but by the time he reached his late teens he realized that music was an integral part of his life. He began singing again, using his gifts to bring happiness to others: at simchos, boosting the spirits of the sick and forming a children’s choir that performed at the Montreal City Hall. With each performance, people have taken note of Mendy, who has appeared on the Soul II Soul stage, at a Lag B’Omer parade attended by 4,000 people and in the wildly popular Ya’alili video.
A strong believer in the power of song, Mendy’s focus is on the joy and happiness that music can bring, hoping to create music that will appeal to children, teenagers and adults alike. Mendy hopes to infuse new flavor into Jewish music, something that is fresh and today while still maintaining the beauty and integrity that defines Jewish music. Not only does Mendy breathe new life into every song he sings, he has several original compositions under his belt as well.

Lipa Schmeltzer at Gourmet Glatt Grand Opening
Vinnews.com by Sandy Eller Borough Park, NY - Over seven thousand people thronged to Borough Park yesterday for the grand opening celebration of a store that not only hopes to provide a pleasant and affordable shopping experience but has also created over one hundred jobs within the community.
Gourmet Glatt, located at the former location of Friedman’s Supermarket at the corner of 13th Avenue and 39th Street, is actually housed in a landmark building which has been a market since the 1930’s. The facility has been undergoing renovation since March 2011 and the opening of the new megastore has created one hundred and twenty five jobs, providing employment for more than sixty members of Brooklyn’s chareidi community.
“With aisles wide enough to accommodate three shopping carts, affordable prices and a comfortable environment, we hope to provide shoppers with a positive experience without a premium price,” co-owner Mordechai Silberstein told VIN News.
The 20,000 square foot store will provide one stop shopping including grocery, meat and poultry, deli, sushi, fresh fish, bakery, appetizing and an extensive selection of produce with valet parking to accommodate up to seventy eight cars. Both valet parking and home delivery will be provided free to Gourmet Glatt customers. The facility is a sister store to the 35,000 square foot Gourmet Glatt located in Cedarhurst.
The opening was enhanced by the talents of Uncle Moishy, Country Yossi and Lipa Schmeltzer and several local politicians turned out for the event including Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, New York City Comptroller John Liu and New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind.
“This wasn’t just a supermarket opening,” Hikind told VIN News. “This was all about investing in our community and the ripple effect, both the jobs created and other good things that will come from this made it a delight to be there.”
Gourmet Glatt continues to celebrate its grand opening with a week’s worth of events including cake decorating and challah baking demonstrations on Monday, a cooking demonstration and cookbook signing on Tuesday, a fruit carving demonstration on Wednesday, a men’s night out featuring a kumzitz, complete with cholent, kugel and wine on Thursday and fresh flower bouquets to all customers with a minimum fifty dollar purchase on Friday.
Dance with Shloimy Daskal - New Album
It’s
been 2 years since Shloimy Daskal has released/been featured on an
album. Don’t take that to mean that he hasn’t been very busy. In fact he
has been performing almost every night at weddings, simchas, dinners
and events for Tzeddakah. He is one of the most sought after Chassidic
singers today. It came to a point though when Shloimy decided that after
all the requests from Daskal fans, it was time to give them what they
wanted. The new album entitled “Dance with Shloimy Daskal”
is NOT a wedding album. Aaron Teitelbaum explains that it’s a Simchas
album. What does that mean? It means that whether you are looking for
some music to pick you up, need some great dancing material for your
group this Purim, or are having a party and need to set the mood, THIS
is the album for you. This DOUBLE ALBUM features over 40 tracks with
THE BEST of today and yesteryear. That’s right, I am talking about
golden hits from Dedi, Yehuda Glantz, MBD and even some from Miami Boys
Choir. Add some of today’s biggest from Shloime Gertner, Yoely
Greenfeld,
MBD and 8th Day. Not enough for you? Then how
about some of the BIGGEST Chassidic hits from Slonim, Sklulen and more.
This album is sure to make everyone’s collection. The album was
masterfully arranged by the maestro himself, Yisroel Lamm, with music
production by Aaron Teitelbaum featuring the Aaron Teitelbaum Orchestra.
Shloime himself has never sounded better and he is joined by both the
Meshorerim & Shira Choirs.

Mendy Werzberger - The Debut Album!
With the release of his upcoming album, V’ani Tefilosi, the Jewish
music world will have a long awaited opportunity to appreciate the many
facets of the multi-talented Mendy Werzberger, whose compositions and
vocals have graced numerous songs over the years. Mendy’s songs have
been featured on albums by Piamenta, Yosef Chaim Shwekey and Mendy Wald,
among others, and he has appeared not only at countless simchas but
also on several albums and projects over the years including Unity for
Justice, Copyright and Mendy Wald’s Echad Yachid U’Meyuchad.
As a child growing up in Toronto Mendy sang on
several albums, but despite his mother’s persistent urging, he had no
interest in recording a solo album. As time and life went by, music
became an integral part of his life and Mendy soon found himself
composing song after song. He began working on an album several years
ago, and after sitting shiva for his mother, Blima bas R’ Chaim a’h this
past summer, Mendy realized it was time to fulfill his mother’s dream
by finishing the album, which is dedicated in her memory.
V’ani Tefilosi features eleven very diverse songs,
ten of which are written by Mendy, some as solo compositions and others
in conjunction with some of the biggest names in the Jewish music
business including Yitzy Waldner, Yitzy Schwartz, Yanky Katina and Moshe
Werzberger. The album also features the talents of Eli Lishinsky, Shai
Bachar, Nir Graff, Yitzy Schwartz, Mona Rosenblum, Eli Laufer, Yitzy
Spinner, Shloime Kaufman, Yoel Dikman, Avrumi Berko, Ruli Ezrahi and
composer Sholy Brach.
Calling music “the language of the soul”, Mendy
covers a wide range of musical styles, with compositions that are both
cutting edge and timeless and he hopes that his singable, heartfelt
songs will connect with people and inspire them. Mendy also donned the
producer’s hat for this album in order to bring out the emotion and true
essence of each and every song.
The upbeat and catchy song Toda Lecha, being released as a music video produced by
Sparks Productions and a free download, is particularly meaningful to Mendy.
“Our live are so busy and fast paced,” explained Mendy. “We are so
rushed that we take things for granted and miss out on so much of life.
We all need to slow down, take the time to look around us and
appreciate all that Hashem gives us on a daily basis.”
V’ani Tefilosi is in the final stages of production
and Mendy hopes to have the album, which is being distributed by Nigun,
on store shelves by Rosh Chodesh Adar.
