Nachman Seltzer and the Shira Chadasha Boys Yomim Noraim Campaign RBS Tzedaka

This song was produced for the RBS Tzedaka Fund by our friends Nachman Seltzer and the Shira Chadasha Boys Choir that he leads, and Simcha Sussman, a well known vocalist for the Jewish music group Shalsheles.

We can never know the full effect of an act of chessed. Many times others are inspired through this act and many lives can be affected without us knowing. But what will be revealed for us at the time of judgement is all the 'dividends' from every mitzvah. Please help the hundreds of needy families that approach the Tzedaka Fund for help every month. The amount of merit that can grow from one donation can ensure a year of physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Directed by Uri Westrich

Assistant Director - Josh Itzkowitz

Lyrics to the song:

Woke up and realized yesterday
Think it's a bummer end of the summer
Kinda nervous that we're almost there
At the days of awe

Prayers in a language that I don't know
Standing for hours and hours more
I wish that someone would please tell me-e-e-e
What it is we're praying for

Oh put me in the book of good life
I just wanna live the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, we've got feelings that we should fight
Make sure that we're choosing right
Gotta earn my own place in
The book of good life

Time for reflection on the past year
Time to figure out what we're doing here
Replace the guilt with inspiration
And everything is clear

Life in the present, the here and now
Easier than regret and planning out
Living in the moment, lasts for a moment
Got my future to think about

When you're sitting there in shul
Wishing it was over
You gotta take a beat
And let it all sink in

Oh put me in the book of good life
I just wanna live the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, we've got feelings that we should fight
Make sure that we're choosing right
Gotta earn my own place in
The book of good life

Hopefully
This year will bring us happiness and peace
Hopefully
Sensitivity to others will increase
Hopefully
We'll open our eyes and think more consciously
Cuz Hopefully
We'll go from where we are to where we want to be

Oh put me in the book of good life
I just wanna live the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, we've got feelings that we should fight
Make sure that we're choosing right
Gotta earn my own place in
The book of good life

Oh yeah
Book of Good life
Ooh

Listen
Time for reflection on the past year
Time to figure out what we're doing here
Replace the guilt with inspiration
And everything is clear

Life in the present seems more fun
Easier than regret, what's done is done
Living in the moment, lasts for a moment
Shana Tova to everyone

OHEL Sets the Stage For an Unforgettable Night!

By: Sandy Eller

On Monday, November 14th, 2011 at precisely 7:30 PM , the term “Jewish music concert” will be forever redefined as the curtain rises with a flourish on the annual OHEL Benefit Concert which, quite simply, will be an event unlike anything concert patrons have ever experienced.

OHEL, with its long standing tradition of raising the bar in concert excellence, continues to innovate and has assembled an unparalleled team of experts who will undoubtedly transform this year’s concert into a truly spectacular event. With design and production by the exclusive talents at NYFF Events and Sheer Productions, every moment and every inch of this star studded performance at the magnificent Mason Hall at the Baruch Performing Arts Center on Manhattan’s East Side will envelop concert patrons in the excitement of the ultimate musical experience that is the hallmark of every OHEL concert.

There are many elements that make this year’s event truly unique. While at most concerts the focus is on the performers, the star of this year’s concert is the music itself. In keeping with the theme “The Music We Love,” the star studded lineup, which is already in place for the concert, is a closely guarded secret, adding to the excitement and mystique of this one of a kind show.

By placing the music and not the performers in the spotlight, OHEL hopes that it is the actual music that will take center stage at this event.

“There is so much music out there that touches the heart and the soul,” said Elly Kleinman, Concert Chairman and President and CEO of The Americare Companies, primary sponsor of the concert. “It has the power to unify us and inspire us to do good. It is the soundtrack of our joyous moments and gives us solace in times of trouble. Music is an integral part of our lives. What better choice could there be to headline this year’s concert?”

Kleinman expects the air to be positively electric as concert patrons enter the hall and excitedly take their seats, waiting to discover the musical delights that await them and the identities of the all-star performers who will be taking the stage.

“We pride ourselves on thinking outside the box and we wanted to do something fresh and fun that had never been done before,” said Norman B. Gildin, Chief Development Officer at OHEL. “While there is certainly an aura of mystery surrounding this event, it is no secret that, as always, we have a full lineup of top tier entertainers for this concert which will be an upscale, professional and elegant evening of music.”

With a potpourri of musical genres, an array of international performers and a selection of songs including much loved favorites and exciting original compositions, OHEL expects the entire evening to have universal appeal. In another musical first, this concert will be an interactive event, and the public is invited to become part of this landmark evening by sharing their favorite songs, artists, musical genres, thoughts and the memorable musical moments of their lives via email or video submissions for possible inclusion in the concert.

“We want people to contact us and tell us about their favorite music, in either email or video format,” said Gildin. “What songs inspired them, what emotions were sparked hearing certain songs. The possibilities are endless. Those talented individuals who are truly innovative can submit short videos of themselves enjoying their favorite music, or sharing their ideas in some creative way. We want people to have fun with this concert, to really be a part of it.”

All video submissions are limited to one minute in length and can be mailed to OHEL Benefit Concert, 4510 16th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11204 or uploaded directly to OHEL’s site at www.ohelfamily.org/concertvideos. Emails can be sent to music@ohelfamily.org and the public is invited to interact with the concert Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ohelconcert. The Twitter link is http://twitter.com/ohelconcert.

Three live dedication opportunities are also available for this unforgettable event, giving those sponsors a unique opportunity to dedicate a song which will be announced by the master of ceremonies. A video or photo montage of the person to whom the song is being dedicated will be displayed as the performer sings the song, allowing for a truly memorable and exceptional experience.

All concert patrons are requested to be in their seats at 7:30 PM so that they do not miss even a single moment of this exciting experience which will begin promptly at the scheduled time.

Numerous sponsorship opportunities are available for the concert, which is one of OHEL’s major annual fundraisers and all patrons will receive a CD with music by the evening’s performers. Tickets can be purchased at 866-OHEL-TIX. For more information, go to www.ohelfamily.org/concert.

Aish - Rosh Hashanah Rock Anthem

Rosh Hashanah - Get ready for the and Jewish High Holidays with this video.

Song Lyrics:
Synagogue, Rabbi's talk, going on for a while, can you check the clock, huh
Cantor's opera, lost my spot, do you know the place, choir in the slot
Wine we drink, with family now, good deeds you do, good for your soul
Fish head, ram's horn, shofar blow, give some money, appeal for dough

Yo, I'm returnin' to the fold can you explain mo'
Got this desire to know Torah scroll, say hello
Our prayers rock, yeah, we're the Jews and we question
Got the pride, just cant stop, our lives are changin'
Rosh Hashanah's in the house tonight

All the world is passing through the light
Let's all get written in the book of Life
Shana Tova -- It's High Holiday time

Taking stock is what we do tonight
Shana Tova -- it's High Holiday time
Let's all get written in the book of Life
Blow the shofar and -- Shuckle!

Three times a day I'm shucklin'
shucklin', shucklin'

Shofar blast, all across the world we will do this task
Apples and honey, feelin' glad -- now stop, never get mad

Fill the Kiddush cup, my friends around
Books are opened up, the challah's round
All our history, we see it now
Now please hear our plea, we're prayin' now

Stand up, sit down, pass the prayer books around
Stand up, sit down, pass the prayer books around
Stand up, sit down, pass the prayer books around
Pass the prayer books around, pass the prayer books around

Rosh Hashanah's in the house tonight
All the world is passing through the light
Let's all get written in the book of Life
Shana Tova -- it's High Holiday time

Taking stock is what we do tonight
Shana Tova -- it's High Holiday time
Let's all get written in the book of Life
Blow the shofar and -- Shuckle!

Everyday I'm shucklin'

Yala Yala Camp Kaylie! - The Summer 2011 Music Video

Camp Kaylie Launches Music Video Based on “Yalili” from the Band 8th Day

More and more summer camps are producing an annual music video to promote their summer camps.
Camp Kaylie has just launched their “Yala Yala Camp Kaylie” music video which uses the tune of “Yalili” from the band 8th Day.

The video features Camp Kaylie staff and campers and rising singing stars Dovid Dachs of Shalsheles Junior and Tani Martin, formerly of Yeshiva Boys Choir - who were both campers at the inaugural Summer 2011 boys camp.

OHEL in many ways provided 8th Day with their “lucky break” when they debuted the song at OHEL’s 2010 Benefit Concert in NYC last year!

Derek Saker, Director of Communications at OHEL adds that “we contacted 8Th Day before commencing project and they not only welcomed the idea of using their tune, but offered to appear in the video. “
The lyrics were re-written by OHEL to embrace the fun and integration of Camp Kaylie and the Camp Kaylie band recorded the music. Big Productions and Shmuel Hoffman produced the video.

Camp Simcha Boys 'Lighting Up The Night' feat. Statue of Liberty

Hot on the Heels of the Camp Simcha Girls We are Golden Music video The Boys of Camp Simcha Have Released Their own music video Lighting Up The Night

On August 23, 2011 Camp Simcha, an overnight camp for children battling cancer and other hematological illnesses, visited the Statue of Liberty to help light up the world. We created this video to empower others to brighten the world for children battling cancer. Everyone had a blast making this video and we hope you enjoy it as well.

Each summer, 400 seriously ill children are treated to unforgettable, medically supervised overnight camp experiences at Camp Simcha, for children battling cancer and other hematological illnesses, and Camp Simcha Special, for children with debilitating chronic conditions.

At Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special, children and teens trade hospital rooms and doctors' offices for fun, friendship, and hope for the future. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities in fully handicapped-accessible facilities. Talent shows, concerts, and helicopter, hot-air, and motorcycle rides make every day super-special.

Campers return home reinvigorated, with deep friendships and happy memories to help them travel the rough road ahead.

Lighting Up The Night Lyrics

Its been a really crazy past two weeks
I made a couple friends, and I got a little taller
My Hands hurting, signing pictures of me
But I was born to do it, and the lines not getting smaller

La la la, you know it, la la la, let me hear you, la la la sababa, la la la

Were gonna light up the night, tonight
Theres a party up in Simcha cuz were fighting with love
Theres light tonight, better change your plans gonna have a good time

Our arms will never tire, well raise our torches higher
Its alright alright well shine tonight

You can catch us hanging by the pool
You know there won't be lunch, not without the music blasting
And they said we shouldn't break the rules
But tonight has gotta be epic

La la la, we all say, la la la, sweet, la la la come on now, la la la

Were gonna light up the night, tonight
Theres a party up in Simcha cuz were fighting with love
Theres light tonight, better change your plans gonna have a good time

Our arms will never tire, well raise our torches higher
Its alright, alright well shine tonight

Whoah, oh oh oh, whoah, oh oh oh

X2 Just don't stop lets keep the beat pumpin'
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
Its our party dance if you want to
Feet on the ground and hands in the cloud

Theres people dancing when the boys are around
They call it chillin when we turn up the sound
Kulanu smeichim v'nehenim poh
Ya Simcha lets go

Whoah, all together now, oh oh oh, kulanu b'yachad
Whoah, satlanim, oh oh oh, lets go camp simcha

Were gonna light up the night, tonight

Theres a party up in Simcha cuz were fighting with love
Theres light tonight, better change your plans gonna have a good time
Our arms will never tire, well raise our torches higher
Its alright alright well shine tonight

Whoah, l'heragah, oh oh oh, party, whoah, splendid, oh, oh, oh

Just don't stop lets keep the beat pumpin
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
Its our party dance if you want to
Feet on the ground and hands in the cloud

Just don't stop lets keep the beat pumpin
Keep the beat up, lets drop the beat down
Its our party dance if you want to
